Maximum Security proved best.
I thought Mucho Gusto faded to fourth, but the announcer is saying 3rd. Will have to double check that , don't think he held for show money...
Irad looked like a bicycle commuter in that deep stretch. Did all he could and then was showing that 'herding' can travel the globe, but only proved a slight nuisance. Good effort from Mucho Gusto, but not enough.
OK, the announcer now confirms he was 4th, not 3rd. Oh well.
Good race. Good to see the major players show up. Maximum Security was the best dirt horse over the past year. I didn't trust or expect that to be true during last year's Derby trail.

What a horse.
I thought he was beat on the turn. The rider was asking and he wasn't gaining, but that horse just loves to win. Speed and heart.
Great race from Midnight Bisou in such a tough male field.

When I saw his fractions and the way he ran in the Florida Derby I knew he was a really good horse. He can settle and actually sustain or beat prior ground timings. Today he got floated , ducked in and still won comfortably. I hope this puts all the bull crap about this horse to rest . He is the best right now and has been for months.

Should be a great race! Good luck to all horses running tomorrow!

Maximum Security wins!
and was no where to be seen. Sucks that both of those horses had a winning streak going into today.

yes, it was. They just announced it at Oaklawn due to Steve being a trainer there.
Congrats to Max Sec, he just won the largest purse in history. $$$ makes all the stuff they've been thru worth it after all.

Good race except I don't care for that horrible camera angle during the early part of the race.

The thing I like about him is that he has really good speed to either get the lead or good position, but he also has that extra gameness that makes him tough to beat if he's gets the jump on you or if you are weakening even sightly and he's right there with you. To beat him, you have to be a lot better than him because he's going to win most battles unless he's short.
