That's a shame for bettors. He had zero chance to win in the first place and would have eaten up money.

BlueChip, Please don't post copyrighted material on this website...especially the full text of something that is pay for play. Regardless of how you or I feel about it personally, there are a few rules here on PA that I like to follow...

No problem...and what I meant about "regardless of how you or I feel about it," I was referring to DRF placing that content behind a password...

Can someone briefly state what the article said. Why is Kid Cruz out? Who pulled him out etc? Thanks.

" We have decided to pass on the Belmont," Rice said. "Frankly, he didn't perform at Pimlico. It was a flat effort on his part. We'll just look for an easy race for him to get him back on track. It's a long summer."

I gotta tell ya - Lamenting the inability to bet against a 50-1 shot is lame.
And this isn't the only board I've seen such silliness.

I was foolish enough to take a swing with Extrasexyhippster when he shipped from Maryland for a big Derby prep in NY (Gotham or Wood - not sure) and he got trounced after killing foes at home. He has since run another bad one.
Kid Cruz won with ease vs his own just like the above horse but was no match for the big leaguers. And he even got them in his home state.
Don't think a trip to Belmont would have improved anything.
They made the right choice.
