Head for Houston....for prosperity

http://www.forbes.com/sites/christop...inkId=12599914

The numbers are amazing........

"Consumer dollars go farther in Houston. 2012 ACCRA Cost of Living Index shows that Houston’s overall after-taxes living costs are 7.8 percent below the nationwide average, largely due to housing costs that are 14.6 percent below the average, not to mention low development regulations. In the context of the 29 metropolitan areas with more than 2 million residents, Houston's cost of living advantage is even more pronounced. Houston’s housing costs are 33.5 percent below the average for the large metro areas, and its overall costs are 16.8 percent below the average for this group."

Moving my tack to Houston in a few weeks👍

That's great, Ralph. The summers aren't that bad either. Unless you're stuck between buildings downtown, the SE breeze is almost constant. Trust me, Dallas is hotter. Some folks in northeast had hotter weather last summer than Houston. Winters are mild to say the least. Many winters it never gets below 32.
Good luck.

I liked Houston but I always thought Austin was better.

How do the stats compare there?

Austin is in the top 3 cities in Texas...........7 of the top 10 are in Texas

This morning I have and inch of snow on the ground. it's 32 and it's 56 in Houston.

I just can't stand this cold anymore.........I am tired of it.

I settled for a new house in a sub division for now, and maybe a condo on the lake in about 5-10 yrs. I figure if I make it to the condo......... I'm lucky

1 inch? We call 3 inches a chance of flurries!

32? If you add up all the high temps for every day in February, we don't get to 32~!

Around here, temperature is like vitamins - 1 a day!

My first thought was "Thank God it finally warmed up! Feels good today."

I'm enjoying it.

Never seen such commerce. The amount of retail is boggling. Nice people. I stay out of the city. Downsizing my life to a smaller house etc. things are going very well. The wife and I are very happy.

Working on getting the new house up to par. Working with home builders is a pain but they have been very nice so far.
