Um, it's a safety issue?
When they brought back poker in LA County, you had to wear one too. And lots of people can't do things they want to do. When I was younger I loved crowded dance floors. I feel terrible for kids that all the dance clubs are closed. But that's what happens when a killer virus is on the loose.
Winning a handicapping contest isn't as important as staying safe. Mask up and handicap.

Then the safe thing to do is stay home
At the very least we should be allowed to roll it over to next year under the circumstances

For every one person looking to make a stand over masks, there’s ten looking to replace them. IJS

You have to do the work and qualify for a spot in contests that mostly cost money to enter and very few people qualify in only one contest. The NTRA should have made other contingency arrangements.

And BTW the Breeders Cup Tournament which requires a 10K entry fee offers both online and at the track option. I won two entries in contest for it and have confirmed excellent tables at the track. However if I have to wear a mask I will give up my seats and play online. Half the fun of going to the Breeders' Cup is being able to walk around and bullshit with everyone at the track. A mask makes makes that very hard.
