Oliver's friend

I met a young Hispanic kid at the Saratoga casino. turns out he switched to rubbing harness horses and now lives full time in Saratoga. a few years ago, a gang of white trash thugs beat him so badly he had to be admitted to the hospital. I heard the story and befriended him. he is Oliver.

the other day a tiny Hispanic man at a local restaurant approached me with hand extended. he thanked me for my kindness to oliver who had pointed me out to this guy and called me his friend. I introduced myself and asked his name. humbly, he said filberto leon. I recognized the fact that he had been a jockey of some substance a few years back and we shared a good laugh when I told him I had lost money betting on him.

he was a bit before my best memory. how much of a factor was he in NY? hes a very, very nice guy.

Sonny, thanks for posting. This is a neat story, certainly, one worth telling.

It's a fine thing when we can be remembered for what we did for others as opposed to only what we did for a living.

Too, I recall he had a restaurant, near the track, on Crescent Avenue

I'd eaten there when it was on Crescent, but that location closed. He moved, right? Or, I thought he did.

it lists its address as 2100 route 50. that's south of SPAC going toward ballston spa on route 50.

the only reason I didn't know about the location and move is because I don't care for Mexican. im stuck on Italian.

enjoy
