Post Track Profiles

I just finished re-reading Brohammer's Modern Pace Handicapping book, specifically on the chapter about creating track profiles. For those not familiar with the format, this is what he suggested:

Distance
# of entries
BL @ 1st call
BL @ 2nd call
E% (energy expenditure)
Winning running style

While this is technically an easy skeleton format to fill-in, I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what other things should be added to be more informational. Since this board has such amazing and knowledgeable people on here, I would like to know what would you add to this? Thank you for any insight and opinions.

Metrics of importance to your handicapping.

For example...

The standard Sartin data
EP
SP
W

My own would be
F1
EP
SC
FT
TotEng
SP
FW
LP
SR

The truth is that it doesn't matter what these are. What matters is what you think is important to track.

The goal of the model is to decide which columns are most important.

Hope this helps.

I would add run up if you know it, and for turf, the temp rail position.

My question since I possess few computer skills, how does getting result chart files into a spreadsheet work? I would still have empty boxes for race and trip notes of the winner but I would love to be able to eliminate some of the basic work. Any help would be welcome.

Appears to be. Sadly my java skillz are non existent.

How about a quick and dirty on how to get this running with the least amount of pain.

P.S.- If anyone knows how to transpose Ultimate PDF PP's into Excel would get the ultimate prize....

Most of the PDF to Excel's cant handle the small distinctions

The problem I had ,had nothing to do with java skills or lack thereof after all.

It's not clear what you're supposed to down load.

Make sure you don't download the source code, but the complied EXE for your platform.

Quite an impressive project.
