I've encountered a few guys (usually on the plane or in the airport) the last few years that were "owners" of a BC horse we were flying to see. Don't get me wrong, these guys were successful men in their own right, but they were as much an "owner" as an instagram girl is a "star" or a "model" --- meaning not really. But they had some sort of swag associated with it that was typical of the modern day fraud with such things. What's funnier is that these guys probably didn't bet as much or as intricately as I did, even regarding their own horses, and I don't call myself anything but a (sometimes) astute player.
That's my take on it.
