Beyer Fig for the $142 Winner
Does anyone know what figure was assigned to Knicks Go, the winner of yesterday's (Sat. Oct. 6th) 9th at KEE, the Claiborne Breeders' Futurity?

Thanks, Tom. That's surprising to me to have all those horses decline but it is what it is.

I'd guess routing was just too much for most of them. The race was a guess, since many hadn't tried two turns.

I believe CJ and TimeformUS had it at a very low number as well.
Half the field could barely get 6F much less finish. Hard to take much away from that one other than Knicks can run a bit.

Good points about the distance and I appreciate the insights.
My (faulty) logic was running that it was unlikely that essentially all the trainers didn't haven't a clue as to whether their horses could run the distance. I know it's always a crapshoot till they run but it seems like in a full field like that at least 2 or 3 of the trainers should have had a pretty good clue that their horse was truly (or at least likely) to have been up to the task. Simply not the case as it turns out.

107 I believe, which equates to about an 87 Beyer.

Thank you, CJ. Pre-race, about half the field had run mid-80's (Beyer) or higher so I was guessing one or more would improve to 90 or more.

This is the chart from TimeformUS. I like that you can see the previous (and future when they happen) figures at a glance. I set mine to show the running lines in past performance style.

post parade
I was in 2 tournaments, one Pick and Pray and one live. I hate changing my mind so i stuck with ,Mott's horse. He got strangled back and then told the jock to go f...k himself. I guess it was an attempt to get him to rate. The winner looked like a monster in the post parade, so much so that i had to take another look at his lines. I talked myself out of him because of the jock, now who is the pinhead

First time lasix was the real deal in both this race and the Alcibiades on Friday. Three two year olds got it, two winners and a runner up.

Also a very low Equibase figure (96) compared to 105 for Complexity in the Champagne (although that was a one-turn race), 107 for Game Winner in the American Pharoah would be another comparitive race.

That and the fact that young lightly raced 2YOs and 3YOs can run big new tops as they go through growth spurts and finally figure out how to race or their connections figure out how to train or ride this particular horse.
Always adds a degree of uncertainty with these type of races.

This is in keeping with studies which show that Lasix is a PED and should be treated as such, unless one believes that all these horses were previous bleeders despite showing no signs of the condition.
