davew - I'm not sure I know exactly what you mean by "the sound must be turned way down or off"??
As far as editing, yeah it does take quite awhile, but it's fun and worth the time.
Episode 5 coming Friday!

I watched again and realize now that there are 3 sound leads -> Tim talking, the background music, and the helmet cam.
One of things I found fascinating/interesting when at the track watching live was 1) at the start and gate, the noise as horses were loading ( guys yelling, metal moving) 2) as the gate opened (the thunder and ground shaking) as the horses quickly accelerate from 0 to 40+ mph and 3) at top of stretch when many in contention ( the ground thunder, jockeys yelling and whistling) and 4) the crowd at big tracks start to ROAR as many are in contention heading towards the wire.
I have no idea what the jockey hears when on top of the horse, but I figured they would hear much of the same with the addition of wind blowing by the ears and plopping/splashing on sloppy tracks, and possibly other jocks yelling about getting in their way/cutting them off/ coming through...
