If only they had showed up for this guy the same way they showed up for 70ishyo Roger Stone, things might have gone very differently...

BTW, where is the photo and full life story of the suspect? I had bet it would turn out to be some MAGA gun-toting hillbilly lunatic.

BUT, seeing as I have yet to view his picture or read his manifesto, I'm starting to wonder.

The guy is not a white heterosexual male, if he was, his picture would be plastered all over the place.

I used to work for the Charlotte PD. This is a hell of a shootout….

Somebody underestimated this guy or he was tipped off and ambushed them……but I don’t know anything beyond what I read……I’ll hear from my former colleagues eventually.

Tough one……. I’ve actually worked this scenario with the marshals before….in California and Ohio…..and they took this kind of stuff very seriously. I can’t imagine what went wrong

I think I am on the high end of living different places and having different jobs, but you seem to have me blown away, and you have been married a long time.

I followed my wife to a job in Charlotte in 2008-9 and worked in the dispatch radio room as a 911 operator and dispatcher for 1.5 yrs or so. It was the best PD I ever worked for and I have worked for 4 different ones as an officer in Ohio and California. I only left because my wife was offered a very lucrative job in Baltimore. I really liked the Charlotte PD and the people. I would have stayed …….been married 38 yrs

I always followed the money. I was cursed with being ambitious and a quick learner. I kept hearing, "But you only have X years experience, I cannot pay you what 20 year guys make". I only worked 10 years in machining for others, 8 different jobs, right there. Funny thing there were two 3 year stints in that 10 years. I had a 4 day job and a 9 day one.

No front page coverage on MSN, I wonder why? There are about 3 front page stories on black people being victims though.

"He spent nearly a year in prison for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and speeding to elude arrest."

Most don't do any time at all, the max sentence for the illegal gun possession is 10 years, they need to start handing those out.
