John Martino

It was posted on face book that John Martino from Boston passed away earlier today. I first met John and his friend Charlie at the first PA Toga get together in 2003. What a great guy he was.

Oh man...very sorry to hear this...John was the nicest person in the world...you hear that kind of thing said all the time when someone dies, but in this case, it was 100% true...he was at quite a few of the PA 'Toga parties, and I'm very saddened to hear that he has passed away.

He would always write me around the time of the Toga parties, and now that I think about it, I didn't hear from him this year.

He simply went by the user name of John on here...and he was a member from almost the beginning...

Well said, PA! John was one of the best. The John and Charlie team always made the trip something special. I'll surely miss them both.

Man, terrible news, a great guy and devoted horseplayer. I knew John well enough to know I'll never forget him. I suspected things weren't well when he stopped forwarding jokes, and John was one of the few that could do that and not annoy me!

John was a wonderful person and we use to commonicate on a weekly basis.
Two years ago at Saratoga he had a heart attack and had his friends drive him back to a Boston hospital. A couple of weeks ago he told me he was being treated for lung cancer and wasn't feeling well at all. He attended Suffolk Downs when he could.

A truly great guy and we'll miss him.
