Pat Day Mile

The Pat Day Mile will give us a chance to watch Defunded. He's coming out the SA Derby. That alone makes how he runs interesting, but he also raced very wide that day. So this will be a good chance to see how a horse that raced wide on a day that some people think was inside/speed favoring comes back.

He’s a Mark Cramer special. Class drop jockey switch track switch drop in distance. And a bullet work at SA.

I thought he'd didn't get the ideal ride. He was kind of rushed prematurely into that fast pace while 4 wide. I think Ortiz would have been better off waiting longer and running late. I'm not sure what I learned about how SA was playing that day other than both horses out of the SA Derby figured to run well and did. I'd say it makes that track look more honest, but this is just one race.
