Thistledown Wednesday 9/28

Ramblings rather than selections . . .

Race 1 - #6 ASIAN SUN fired a bullet work at Parx before setting sail for today's first attempt in Cleveland. He has been competitive in California against better. #5 EQUAL REASON is consistently the fastest of the locals.

Race 2 - The local debut sends #1A (PP8) FASHIONABLY HANDSOME to the head of this field but a line must be drawn through that mysterious last effort(?) against tougher.

Race 3 - #4 SUMAMATADA finished last time as if he was willing to go further. The bump in class may not be significant here against career maidens. #3 SEAS COURAGE and #6 MELTDOWN MAX have both posted several decent times but remain winless.

Race 4 - Early turn of foot and experience on this race track give #2 (PP1) MAXIMILIAN a slim chance to beat #1A (PP5) UNITTIMIDATED the $230k son of Big Drama or his stablemate #1 PAPA MOON.

Race 5 - Taking some much needed class relief #4 IS TRUE is the fastest local regular at this distance. #3 PINOT NOIR and #5 OMNIVELLY both figure to improve in their second trips over the track.

Race 6 - #2 ALLIE SWEET is the fastest at this distance and has a couple excuses for her dismal finish last time in a decent field. #7 JIDDY appears targeted for this spot after not being asked in her return race.

Race 7 - #6 RUN RUN can be forgiven for giving way late to tough PROPER TOUCH last time. #3 DAPPER TAPPER is the fastest here when he brings his best. A duel would supply an opportunity for #7 ROCK N HEART.

Race 8 - Recent claim #8 BOSPHORUS STORM torched NIKISPRING 12Sep. That one danced back a winner on Monday - Jevon Crumley puts winless Alex Gonzalez in the saddle? #3 BEAR HUNTER switches barns and jocks after a wide late rally in his well bet Thistledown debut. Needs the lead type and possible favorite #9 AWESOME PRIZES might be worth a play against returning to one turn.
