More good news on the vaccine front.
The vaccine developed at Oxford University in conjunction with Astrazenca is ready and now awaiting regulatory approval. It has had mass testing of over 30,000 people in the UK and Brazil and has a success rate of 70% which initial tests say rise to 90% if the way the vaccine is administered changes. This vaccine has advantages over the other vaccines in that it is cheaper and easier to produce and can be stored at normal refrigerator temperatures rather than -80 for the other vaccines. This means distribution is far easier and it can be stored at doctors surgeries and pharmacies. This is even more important when sending it out to less developed nations. Astrazenca have also announced that they will take no profits from it, again a major benefit for poorer countries.
The vaccine will be manufactured in the UK. 4 million doses are already ready and the UK government has ordered a further 100 million doses.

I guess the USA isn't the only place where there are a huge number of insane people who think locking down and giving up all your rights is a bad idea:
That looks like a SHIT TON OF PISSED OFF GERMANS....uh oh.
Was this WIDELY reported anywhere on US MSM? I don't recall it...and this happened 5 days ago...
Seems like it would be headline material...a crowd of that size...in a major democracy...being water cannoned...
But what the hell do I know?

snappit - there's a trial going on right now in the UK on another vaccine coming from Novavax. It may prove "best in class" yet.

Chance to take THEORY and put it into PRACTICE long term on a major scale.

Its been major news.
Maybe OAN didn't show it.
It's been all over the French news, the guardian, the nyTimes, AP, the german and other news. etc.
You would have seen the right-wing extremist groups and the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, doing their usual "Sieg Heil" stiff-armed Hitler salutes and shouting anti-semetic slogans.
Michael Ballweg, the "there is no pandemic" guy, is bringing a lot of protesters together....kinda a borderline QAnon figure. (cray-cray) . (all protests in open public spaces must be registered with the police in advance so his name is apparently on the permits). He expressed his disappiontment that Trump was wearing a mask now. ---- while saying QAnon stuff like "Where we go one, we go all.”
One of the other organizers is Ken Jebsen, a former public radio host who was fired for anti-Semitic remarks and claims that covid is a trojan horse designed to “make the state and the lobbyists and companies that give it advice even more powerful, and citizens even more powerless.” Then you have the renowned Wolfgang Wodarg claiming that all the covid vaccines will genetically alter people.
So yes, to answer your question, there's a lot of far right extremists, Qanons, etc. protesting all over the place w/out masks or any social distancing.....not just in the U. S.
While health care workers the world over are practically dropping from exhaustion, mandatory overtime, etc.
Fatigue? Talk to them about fatigue. Some people are just selfish though.

Who here is stupid enough to think 99% of people will stop living their lives for the 1% or the liberal elite?

So all those people at the best prepared hospitals in the U.S. and all the other health care workers around the world who are risking their lives and telling about it, are the 1% liberal elite?
Unfortunately, perhaps only the actual shock of disease and death would be able to reel you back into reality.
The only way to do that is toss someone like you into an ICU for a week or 2, at one of the many embattled hospitals around the nation, because that's the only way someone like you will *get it*.
And maybe I'm wrong....maybe you still would not even be ashamed after that about pretending that this is about the lives of 1%......and you of course.
No, lets instead protect people sitting on barstools so they can have their "freedom" and bars stay open all night, w/no closures and curfews, so that others who are doing responsbile things, working hard at important things, can mop up the damage and put their families at risk for your beliefs.
You are just one of the many keyboard warriors hiding behind a username, probably close to a shut in at that, while other people are out there trying to help other human beings survive with a ventilator down their throat.

I think there is no appetite to continue this way or listen to people like you, no need to take my word for it. No one is going to be told by elite who don't do as they say.
