That being said, why would he be the sponsor of the Travers-he should be the sponsor of the Kings Bishop (Allen Jerkens). I hate when they change the names of races; just add a new race for Allen Jerkens.
You're suggesting Lasix makes horses run up to a second faster?

They reported 128 mares bred in 2018. Numbers for 2019 should be released soon. Would guess they got 128+ in 2017.

Yeah, that's too much. I found it to be about .08 per furlong. So for Runhappy, about 0.56 for his King's Bishop, 0.48 for his BC Sprint. When I used the Beyer scale it worked out to about 7 points regardless of distance. It was really consistent too.

Of course there were a lot of "first time lasix" horses 20 years ago and had plenty of data to work with back then. Now, not so much.

I've noticed a few nice hits with "second time Lasix" horses, specifically maidens and foreign relocators, as the dosage on the first run may have been a bit too light, OR the intent running first time was just to get the horse acclimated, and not a full-out intent to win.....Prices on "second timers" tend to be much higher when they hit, unless they finish ITM, first run.

Pretty rare find these days, think 95% of horses here begin their careers on the big L. Get the occasional shipper from overseas that stays and doesn't run great first time with it.

True, but try to treat all second time maidens as if they're a FTS, as per my previous comments when it comes to Lasix, as long as they're not ITM, first run....A nice work in between starts gets an added look.....More plays than you think.

True, I'm a big second time starter player anyway so probably doing it by default.

Nothing announced for Run Happy, perhaps they have to pay you to breed to him?

5 wins for first year stallion. Yikes that’s just terrible.

The Run Down on Run Happy

I guess if you like to watch horse racing on TV maybe you're gonna cheer for Run Happy. They sure are sponsoring a bunch of programming on Fox TV with him.

And a sprinter?

You bet your ass!

Look at Mr. Prospector. That was mighty sire.

Runhappy was a thrill to follow...from unknown to an Eclipse winner. He was heading to superstardom, until an inept trainer got a hold of him.

Here's a heads-up for ya: Put Run Snappy and Sheshappy in your stable. Someday, you'll eat your words!

Has anyone caught the new "Patience is a Virtue" ads featuring Zito? I'm calling it The Apology Tour. Of course, it's too early to write Run Happy off, and you never know what the next generation will do.

But it doesn't look good.

Runhappy himself didn't debut with a win until the end of December of his 2YO year.

As we are approaching the end of the year, we're seeing some of the Runhappys start to run well. Like sire, like progeny?

Did anyone claim the $100,000 maiden bonus they offered @ select tracks?

Alex, I'll take Midnight Lute for 15K.

You would think that some of these tracks would start writing races to get the Runhappy progeny in the winners circle
