The schedule, which is posted on the CDC's website, recommends that children between six months of age and 18 years old should receive two doses of the primary series between four and eight weeks apart — followed by a booster dose at least eight weeks later."

Covid immunization deaths are here to stay.
Some states/cities will now mandate Covid immunization for students in order to go to school.

Xylitol Nasal Spray Prevents SARS-CoV-2 Infection:
https://petermcculloughmd.substack.c...-prevents-sars

Quote:
Results from a Prospective Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial

By Peter A. McCullough, MD, MPH

The sophisticated American consumer has grown accustomed to the gold-standard for drug and health products—the prospective randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (RCT). Operation Warp Speed (OWS) was supposed to be a churning mill of large RCT’s to help the nation understand what conclusively is effective in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. Unfortunately, after three years, has delivered failed products (remdesivir, baricitinib, molnupiravir, COVID-19 vaccines) and small inconclusive trials of products that doctors have found effective in practice including off-target generic antivirals and anticoagulants. OWS did not test simple, affordable, available prevention strategies. Fortunately such RCTs where done outside of the US and have brought us important findings.

Balmforth et al, conducted a prospective double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of a xylitol based nasal spray in the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection in exposed healthcare workers in two hospitals in Uttar Pradesh, India. Xylitol is known to have anti-infective and anti-inflammatory properties and is used in XLEAR nasal spray and anti-infective chewing gum to prevent dental caries. Balmforth found that SARS-CoV-2 infection confirmed by serology was 71% lower with xylitol compared to placebo [36 cases (13.1%) Vs 97 cases (34.5%); odds ratio [OR] 0.29 (95% CI; 0.18–0.45), p < 0.0001]. Fewer clinical symptoms were also seen in the test group [57 cases (17.6%) vs 112 cases (34.6%); OR 0.40, (95% CI; 0.27–0.59), p < 0.0001]. No harmful effects were associated with xylitol. A smaller study of xylitol nasal spray in mild COVID-19 cases demonstrated that persistent loss of smell may be eliminated with xylitol nasal spray during the acute congestion phase.

The study is titled "Evaluating the efficacy and safety of a novel prophylactic nasal spray in the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection: A multi-centre, double blind, placebo-controlled, randomised trial" and was published in the Journal of Clinical Viroloy (October, 2022.)

Highlights

• A randomised control trial of the efficacy of a nasal spray against SARS-CoV-2.
• The spray combines natural viricidal agents with mechanisms to prevent viral entry.
• The test agent significantly reduced the infection rate from 34.5% to 13.1%.
• Fewer patients were symptomatic in the test group [17.6% vs 34.6%; p < 0.0001].
• No serious adverse events were reported in either arm of the study.

Abstract

Background The COVID-19 pandemic continues to devastate communities all over the world. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the test agent as a prophylaxis against SARS-CoV-2 infection in a population of high-risk healthcare workers.

Methods The study was a multi-centre, prospective, double blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial. Key eligibility criteria included absence of significant co-morbidity and no previous SARS-CoV-2 infection or vaccination. Participants were randomised to either the active agent nasal spray or placebo using computer generated random number tables. The nasal spray was administered 3 times daily over a 45 day course. The primary end point was the percentage of subjects who tested positive for IgGS (anti-spike, immunoglobulin G specific to the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2) at day 45.

Results Between 16th April 2021 and 26th July 2021, 556 participants were analysed for the primary endpoint (275 Test; 281 Placebo). The test agent significantly reduced SARS-CoV-2 infection compared to placebo [36 cases (13.1%) Vs 97 cases (34.5%); OR 0.29 (95% CI; 0.18–0.45), p < 0.0001]. Fewer clinical symptoms were also seen in the test group [57 cases (17.6%) vs 112 cases (34.6%); OR 0.40, (95% CI; 0.27–0.59), p < 0.0001]. No harmful effects were associated with taking the test agent.

Conclusion The test agent significantly reduced SARS-CoV-2 infection in healthcare workers, with 62% fewer infections when compared to placebo. It was found to be safe and well tolerated and offers a novel treatment option for prophylaxis against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

So here we have the gold standard. A prospective randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial.

The data clearly showed an inexpensive repurposed drug (Xylitol nasal spray) to be effective against Covid-19 in a health care setting during the height of the Delta wave in Uttar Pradesh India (population 241 million) without side effects.

Odd how studies like this almost never get done in the US.

"On Stupidity"
https://petermcculloughmd.substack.com/p/on-stupidity

Quote:
Dietrich Bonhoeffer's theory explains much of contemporary politics and culture.

In 1943, the Lutheran pastor and member of the German resistance, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, was arrested and incarcerated in Tegel Prison. There he meditated on the question of why the German people—in spite of their vast education, culture, and intellectual achievements—had fallen so far from reason and morality. He concluded that they, as a people, had been afflicted with collective stupidity (German: Dummheit).

He was not being flippant or sarcastic, and he made it clear that stupidity is not the opposite of native intellect. On the contrary, the events in Germany between 1933 and 1943 had shown him that perfectly intelligent people were, under the pressure of political power and propaganda, rendered stupid—that is, incapable of critical reasoning. As he put it:

Quote:
--partial quote:
A closer look reveals that the strong exertion of external power, be it political or religious, strikes a large part of the people with stupidity. Yes, it seems as if this is a sociological-psychological law. The power of some requires the stupidity of others. Under this influence, human abilities suddenly wither or fail, robbing people of their inner independence, which they—more or less unconsciously —renounce to adapt their behavior to the prevailing situation.

The fact that stupid people are often stubborn should not hide the fact that they are not independent. When talking to him, one feels that one is not dealing with him personally, but with catchphrases, slogans, etc. that have taken possession of him. He is under a spell; he is blinded; he is abused in his own being.

Having become an instrument without an independent will, the fool will also be capable of all evil, and at the same time, unable to recognize it as evil. Here lies the danger of diabolical abuse...
Imo, the above words written by Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer from Tegel Prison in Nazi Germany point out some striking parallels from both his time and our time.

I decided to post this here - mainly because I found it on Dr. Peter McCullough's substack.

That said, there are any number of other threads in the off topic area of this site where I could have posted this where Bonhoeffer's observations are equally relevant.

Bonhoeffer ultimately surrendered the prospects of successful debate. Here he is on abortion:

"Destruction of the embryo in the mother’s womb is a violation of the right to live which God has bestowed upon this nascent life. To raise the question whether we are here concerned already with a human being or not is merely to confuse the issue. The simple fact is that God certainly intended to create a human being and that this nascent human being has been deliberately deprived of his life. And this is nothing but murder".

I mention this issue because I have arrived at largely the same conclusion via Elizabeth Anscombe, who offered that to even debate what everyone ought to understand as abhorrent, the intentional destruction of unborn human nature and life, is to raise it to the level of legitimacy.

One can substitute one's own issue, such as vaccine mandates, but the solution seems to be meeting force (progressives don't want debate, but want to steamroll you, IMO) with Matt Walsh-style force. Blunt language about reality of an action (abortion, transgenderism, etc), and those pursuing such goals, in order to obtain legislative action on a sleeping culture such as Bonhoeffer describes, and Walsh helped realize in the Tennessee legislature.

Bonhoeffer's sentiments are biblical. The bible associates stupidity and foolishness with evil. In fact, there is a very strong correlation between the two. It certainly seems that people who walk in a "blacker" darkness are more stupid than others who have a greater degree of spiritual sight.

Maybe there is a crack in the wall, we can only hope.

Quote:
The Left had lost all of the economic arguments by the 1990s, and its activists eagerly grabbed the chance to say free markets and small government couldn’t save us from climate change; only government intervention could do that. Letting capitalism run free was a certain way to ensure the end of the planet; smart Lefties should take charge and save us from ourselves.
Quote:
“Smart Lefties” would necessarily include the people at the top of the news industry. Or at least that’s what they must believe.

This corruption of news reporting into narrative journalism has been apparent for years to climate-hysteria skeptics. Until recently, however, that revolution-by-evolution process hadn’t become apparent to most of the rest of the populace. Now, however, with all sorts of new data coming out about masks and natural immunity in the COVID pandemic, many more people have seen The Science® exposed as based entirely on political agenda. The mainstream-media refusal to cover new and conclusive meta-analyses of scientific studies that refute their three-year narratives in support of government emergency rule now demonstrates that corruption on a much broader scale.

Expect to see a lot more skepticism on the Sky Is Falling narrative — and especially directed at those who keep trying to serve it up, either as entrées or side dishes.
