I still expect Good Magic to jog in this race I am still a fan of Catholic Boy and he has the ability to compete in this race, 8/1 seems fair enough for me to use him.

At this stage he's no more than a pace factor.
But the O'Brien assistant made a point of saying the horse is progressive and looking at his Derby effort to his Dwyer race to today's performance, it's hard to argue with that.
But that doesn't mean he has any more room to improve. His Dubai race was under ideal conditions (weak field, no pace, rail bias) he is unlikely to see in a race like the BC Classic. If they follow suit with another start (either the Penn Derby or the Jockey Club Gold Cup from what I have seen) before the BC, we'll know the score for sure.

Price says it all, the needs to be 3-1 and the at 6-1. Playing with the and .

I stand by my statement that the 3 year olds aren't all that good and that the BC Classic is a 2 horse race between Accelerate and Diversify.

This is the worst crop in a long time.
Catholic Boy would have looked impressive today if I didn't know what a bunch of slugs he beat.
The only way a 3 year old is going to win a BC race this year is to enter into one of the 2 year old races. Even then......ify.

When the year started, many were saying it was the strongest crop of 3 yr olds in a long time.

Track was playing really fast today, at least it seemed to me, a little surprised that the figure for the race was 104. What did Abel Tasman get, 110?

That judgment can never be made in January of the three year old year.

3yr olds are fairly inconsistent usually. They seem to be a little more inconsistent this year. Might just be me, but lately it has been tough.

Some real strangeness with the Beyer figures, I guess they have the track considerably slower at the end of the day because the Forego is much higher rated than the other 7 furlong races yet was slower.
I have a hard time thinking that Catholic Boy would not have been whipped should he been chasing Justify (his best figure I think was 105).
