Fixed Odds Across the Pond
I'm getting reports of incredibly generous (and completely inept) locked-in odds offered in England on numerous Mnr winners. Certain instances more than boggle my mind.
Can someone speak to this?

Mountaineer was always very popular overseas. they used to take Mounaineer on the exchange and did a huge handle for the night in the $millions at Bet Fair.

Good lord, Phil. If they did give 5-1 on last nite's 1st race winner and 16-1 on Chromium, who took the finale, they need to know I could find time to consult on their odds line.
Either that, or I retire, move to England, and start shopping for a castle..

I guess there's still great value out there if you know where to look.

With our luck...the overseas bookies will wise up on the night before we get there.

You'd get cut off before afternoon tea the next day.

I don't worry about that. I drink coffee.

How nice for you, Gus, but I have never consumed even one cup of coffee in my life. And afternoon tea (my son and I drink Earl Grey) was part of my fixed-odds fantasy. Please hold the cucumber sandwiches. I don't get them at all.

those odds may have been for a few bets, but probably not all bets on those horses

I was just making a bad joke. The truth is that I may have had only two cups of coffee in my entire life. And just as many cups of tea. Ask me about ouzo though...and that would be a tougher question to answer.
