What's the point of having a hearing officer if the commission never accepts its recommendation?

Does the commission never accept its recommendation?

August 2021......almost a year and a half.
16 months. Same time frame for OJ's trial.

I'm sure you'll hear from someone shortly who will go on about "due process"

This is horse racing. It's not the NY federal courthouse. Get these situtations (e.g. Linda Rice) solved faster.

Yeah, I know...those people are terrible human beings (the ones who favor due process).

I mean...it's your $2 versus their entire livelihoods. Let's err on the side of your $2.

I hope you never have to deal with the legal system ...

Due process

Was released from jail on parole for killing 2 people now he killed 3 more thats a total of 5

A recently-paroled felon was charged Tuesday with killing three people and critically wounding another outside the Vera Lounge, where the city’s top cop said he carried out the “heartless” attack after being asked to leave a party for the owner’s niece.

Way to equate murder to you losing your $2 bet

The problem is how long due process takes and I don't care about a bet, I care about the horse's safety.

Happens in August
Hearings in Feb and March I think?
Report not issued until over a year after the incident.

What exactly is going on here? These are issues of safety and integrity. These people aren't dealing with all of racing around the world, they're dealing with NY. This is nuts. I don't want a horse around someone that will harm them and I don't want a trainer or jock under suspicion if it's unwarranted.

Seems a ridiculously long time.
Are these people that far behind?
My point was it it as long to review a whipping case as it did the entire OJ case.

No excuse.

When I was working, and we got behind, we worked nights and weekends.
I suspwct the racing folks need a bit of motivation. I mean, did they have to get DNA off the whip?
