I doubt that, at least not for a while. I believe the plan was to head east for the Phipps on Belmont day. Who knows what the plan is after that.

From brisnet.com:

Quote:
Two-time Eclipse Award champion filly Beholder towers over six older fillies and mares in next Sunday's $75,000 Santa Lucia Stakes at 1 1/16 miles, her first start since winning the Breeders' Cup Distaff at Santa Anita on November 1. Trained by Richard Mandella and owned by B. Wayne Hughes' Spendthrift Farm, Beholder is in search of her fourth consecutive win as she preps for the Grade 1, $1 million Ogden Phipps at 1 1/16 miles on June 7 at Belmont Park.

"We were looking for a race to get her started and we felt this would be a good prep for the million dollar race on Belmont Day," Mandella said. "Adding it up, we just didn't want to ship out of town for her first race back. I don't feel she's wound up as tight as she might be, but it should be good enough for now."

Anyone know if the BC Classic is the end game? Would love to see her in it if she keeps to form. I think the world of this horse.

If they try boys with Beholder it will be in a race that looks like it might come up a little weak relative to the typical Grade 1 male race and it will be at 9F or less. No way she hits the board at 10F against a Classic caliber field. Besides, there's plenty of good competition against her own sex for now.
