Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint: Is Midnight Lucky A Big Enough Freak To Win?

Midnight Lucky is trying to win a Breeders' Cup Championship off of a 6 month layoff. Can she achieve this monumental task?

Could be a good bet against

She is that good, for sure.
Will take a good one to beat her.

However, it won't be hard to find some nice prices on good fillies.
Midnight Lucky will not be at attractive odds.

Her daddy cost me a pig PK6 by winning the same race in a very similar situation. Of course she can.

She may go off at around 5-1. Judy the Beauty and Artemis Agrotera will probably go off at shorter prices based on the layoff.

You won't see half that price on Midnight Lucky.
She could go off at under 2-1.

Agreed. Thinking ML goes off at 2-1 w/ JTB and AA in the 5-2 and 4-1 range.

Handicapping 101 Alert !
One race in 17 months.
Hasn't raced in 6+ months.
The field is loaded with talent.
And lets save the best for last.....
Midnight Lucky might go off as the favorite.
What word is stronger than No......

A layoff like that in a Grade 1 race is usually an automatic toss for me unless the horse is a huge standout, but Baffert is pretty good at bringing back horses off long layoffs in stakes.

My first impression:
Judy The Beauty will be tough...Artemis is a play against at short odds.

Leigh Court will take a 36 hour van ride to SA.
Not sure why, but she isn't flying there.

Will this have any affect on her performance?

I van better than I fly, too.
But that's only due to security checkpoints and a lack of leg room.
