I had to look up "growler". I found all these definitions of it and none fit until the last one:

Growler (electrical device), for testing electric motors
Growler (calypsonian), pseudonym of singer Errol Duke
Growler (vehicle), an internally transportable vehicle, or a horse-drawn carriage known as a Clarence (carriage)
EA-18 Growler, a jet fighter
USS Growler, one of four ships
Officer Growler, a character from The Getalong Gang animated TV series.
A house robot in Robot Wars
A character type in David Weber's Honorverse
A size of iceberg
A type of horse-drawn cab
A type of beer bottle
A unit type in the game VOR: The Maelstrom
A Yorkshire artisan pork pie
Slang for a hot dog.
Slang for the act of defecating (as made popular by the TV show MXC).(Most Extreme Elimination Challenge)

Nice play on words. The only growler I knew is having used the electric device for testing armatures in motors.

I know you love to play with words. Tizzy took me to a show in SF last Friday to see "Geezer" with Geoff Hoyle. It's about old people. At one point Hoyle mimicks 2 old people. The woman says "Do you want to have some super sex". And the Geezer says "I'll take the soup" (get it? sounds like soup or sex) Another time Mrs Geezer asks Mr Geezer if he wanted to "come upstairs and have some sex". Mr Geezer replied "I don't know if I can do both"

You have to be the only other person here who would have known that.
It also has another use; any thoughts ?

Geoff Hoyle is a genius. That said, those two gags are older than the hills on Granny's chest. I guess it's still possible Geazzy Geoff invented them ...

going to chinatown in sf tonite to buy some roman candles, bottle rockets and such. we'll stock up for a fireworks paintball themed game that'll go at the local elementary school. we're playing to celebrate our nation's independence and also our own 16th birthdays.

Spent the last week in the Blue Rige of Western NC. The mountain laurel were never prettier and the rhododendron are also in full bloom.
