"Longmire" is one of the few good shows that has been on recently. It ended last year but I believe all 6 seasons are still available on Netflix.

I believe they are doing a movie. I don't know if that brings things to an end, but I'm sure it will be interesting.

A few examples...

1. Every police show has to have at least one female senior officer and usually two. They make up at least half of all supervisors and a significant percentage of street officers.

2. Female police officers are always capable of delivering a couple of good punches to disable an opponent who is 100+ lbs heavier.

3. Every family has to have at least one gay person, and they are always so happy and just have life together.

4. Street people are almost always educated and articulate. Nobody talks like someone who has resisted learning proper grammar.

5. All the bad guys are firing automatic weapons.

The point is that everything... every show... every news broadcast... every story told... points to what the media, and, by extension, the left-wing wants you to believe is reality.

To make matters worse, the stories are getting more blatantly political. Like Madam Secretary, who had Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright and Hillary Clinton on to build the liberal case.
Today's dramas are mostly chases and shootouts. Comedies are either stupid or like soap operas (although I liked Big Bang Theory for a few years after it first started).

Comedians used to be funny and not political.
Jay LEno was probably the last real comedian on TV. He poked good fun at everyone, no party BS. And not personal.

As far as movies go, I think From Russia With Love was the last believable action movie ever made.

I have to say, though, I remembered the old 60's TV show the Prisoner as a great show. But a couple of weeks ago, it shows up on Saturday nights on FOLK channel - WOW! is that ever a STUPID show!

I totally agree with the Mountainman and others. I do love BILLIONS, on Showtime, which so far this year is better than ever. But most of the network shows are silly and definitely have a political or social bias.

TV's top priority is advertising. If they could get you to watch the commercials without spending anything on programming TV would be 100% commercials.
