I think it would be nice if the running score was posted and the race results as well

Agree, and would add, keep alternating which one of you posts first.
ROI is being calculated on a $2.00 base.

I've never once stated that I'm some great handicapper. But I do think I'm better than Mad Scientist...lol
If not, then I will lose this little contest, and tip my hat to him.
I fully intend to keep things civil, win or lose.

??????
This is the way I learned to figure $1 ROI
Wagered $8.00
Cashed $6.40
Net - $1.60
Neg $1.60 divided by $8.00 = ($1.00 ROI )= - 0.20
Invested $8.00 got everything back except $1.60 (lost)
$8.00 x -20% = -$1.60
Right ?????????

Don't want to get into a big debate in this thread, however, since we are using a $2 base bet, I thought it best to report ROI based on $2.00. Hence, Mad Scientist currently has a $1.60 ROI...$1.60 returned for every $2.00 wagered.
I could have reported it as 0.80, or $0.80 returned for every $1 wagered.
You can report the number in many different ways. It all means the same thing in the end.

Indeed, you have already posted a very valuable lesson - don't choose favs and 2nd favs if you want to win an ROI-based champion.
|
That may be true if you are playing in a contest against hundreds of players, but not necessarily in a one-on-one.

Tale of the Tape
----------------
1) Mad Scientist | 3 for 8 | Bet $16 | Win $20.40 | Win 37.5% | ROI $2.55
2) PaceAdvantage | 0 for 8 | Bet $16 | Win $0 | Win 0% | ROI $0.00
92 more races to go
Maybe I'll go 0 for 100

I see your strategy. Lull him into overconfidence. Good one. But, you have to be very very good to pull it off.
