Actually, Arrogate did.

Regardless, sticking their pps next to each other doesn't draw a favorable comparison to Gun Runner, who was terrific in the latter half of his career. Skip Away danced every dance for years, and met a slew of far better horses than Gun Runner ever faced, save Arrogate. Skip Away had some down days, no doubt, but on his many good days, he would have beaten even the older Gun Runner....and as 3YOs, Skip Away would have dusted him.

Should we compare their respective trainers:-)

Skip Away v Gun Runner

I’m in the Skip Away camp.
Maybe he wouldn’t have ‘dusted’ Gun Runner, but I’m certain he would have beaten him.

As TLG said, he danced every dance. Hine boldly campaigned him and took on everyone, coast to coast. I think he ran over 35 times, which is something you just don’t see from a Gr1 runner anymore.
Gosh I miss those days.

Have a great holiday everyone!

12th Day of Christmas

On the 12th day of Christmas, The Triple Clowns bring to you, the one and only
Vic Stauffer to debate a match race between the legendary Secretariat vs. Man o' War.

Who do you think would win this match race?

I'm assuming your completely forgetting or ignoring Ruffian's match race with Foolish Pleasure!? Clearly he did!
