Never have listened to his show.
He'd have to get some interesting guests before I would.
Stein isn't still training horses, is he?
He wasn't much good at that, either.

I listen to the show every Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 am pst. I also listen to Race and Sports Radio with Felix Taverna, Ken Daniels, and Ty Alexander at 7:00am pst.

Roger Stein was the first one and the loudest radio personality to speak out against synthetic surfaces.

Roger Stein was the first one and the loudest radio personality to speak out against the California raise in takeout and he still talks about it to this day.

Roger Stein continually speaks out against the CHRB and the TOC and how bad they are for California Racing and Horseplayers.

I don't agree with him on every single issue but who agrees on everything?

He does not do any training in person because he is in bad health and has been for years.

The bottom line for me is that if you follow California Racing and you're a Horseplayer then you should be glad Roger Stein in on the air.

Sorry Andy, wait until he turns on you and it will happen.

He really believes that horse players are not part of the game.

That's a strange idea. His two co-hosts are both gamblers, a man he calls 'Bettor Bob' and a guy who hawks his tipline right there on the show. Yep, that Roger Stein fellow really can't stand them horseplayers.

Sirius/XM has the best racing coverage.

They also simulcast TVG for part of the day, if you are interested in that.

I've listened to the Stein show on and off for years. Some of the things I've heard are useful. Some of it bland and useless. The San Diego show is more interesting for the selections than anything else. I haven't listened much since they left KOGO. I enjoy "Race Day Las Vegas" the most out of all of them.

I have a e mail from him saying that he believes horse players are not part of the game.

As to Bettor Bob, a genus in math , as to John, he is there to sell his picks

Same thing.

Of the other S Cal racing shows, when was the last time you heard Lenny Schulman talking about the wrongs in racing or Jerry Jam taking on the old boys club known as the CHRB & TOC ?

You aren't going to get that info on the other PR vehicles out here.

That's what I like about it. Like I said we don't have to agree on everything that's said or how it's said but the show has a unique style that rubs some people the wrong way but overall the show is a plus for California Racing.
