Right.

On November 13, 2016, President-Elect Trump said:

"I would rather see it, where you went with simple votes. You know, you get 100 million votes, and somebody else gets 90 million votes, and you win. There’s a reason for doing this. Because it brings all the states into play."

Yep. By allowing each state's legislative branch the power to direct the electoral college of that state's votes, the door they are now walking through was ever so slightly left open.

The will finally became strong enough for the powers that be to find a way.

This is a totally constitutional, and effective, way to get around the substance of the electoral college.

This country is going down a road of populism+progressivism=.........

Not good for a vocal minority.

As it is now, a non-democrat is unlikely to ever win the popular vote again. When illegal aliens get the right to vote soon, it will be impossible.

Things are different now. The polarization is much wider and your team has complete control.

It has. Very seriously for 20 years. Bush/Gore brought it square to the forefront.

It will happen sooner than you think.

Has the NPVIC been challenged / upheld in Federal Court?
