IMO, Bolt d"Oro is now off my list until I see a lot of improvement. His workouts have been suspect and word is he has some issues.
Instilled Regard will be under my eye as we go forward. The Belmont will be perfect for him but maybe he can win the KD also.

Audible will race only 1 more time before the Derby. I am so sick of this trend. They should alter the points system to force these horses to race. I remember the good ole days when race horses actually used to race. and another thing, when in the hell is MONTAUK gonna race? Hype hype hype but no damn racing. This is just getting stupid.
They should change the points system something like as follows. Keep the 2 year season the same with the 10 point races but once January 1st comes all the prep races are the same until the Big 6. 25 to the winner 15 to second, 10 to third, 5 to 4th. Then when you get to the big final preps make it 75,50,25,10... That will get these horses racing again.

Baffert has another potential monster in Zulfikhar. Be real interesting if he goes Saturday in the San Vicente against Ax Man and Nero.

They don't race them at 4. You think they'll start to race them at 3 before the Derby?
They just want an in and hopefully a healthy horse that can run 1st Saturday in May. That is the bestest of Black Type out there. Forever.

Good Magic
Solomini
McKinzie
Bolt
Anything with Raise A Native sire line to fill out the list. I'm just not that impressed with what I've seen so far to make a top 10. Kudos to Haskin at Blood Horse for crafting the Derby Dozen attempting to make sense of this mess.
I suspect we will see a number of horses off most radars pop up in the early March preps and we might even see a new shooter or two in the big 9F preps like Always Dreaming last year.

New York Central beat him fairly easily, but on an off track and was on the rail the whole trip
Times in 100ths: :23.89 :48.53 1:14.16 1:40.18 1:47.01
Previous race the Southwest:
My Boy Jack won by 4 1/2 lengths w/a sweet trip down the rail
Times in 100ths: :23.46 :47.70 1:13.56 1:39.67 1:46.00

Funny how times change, update.
1. Mckenzie: still there but....
2. Bolt d'Oro: has not done anything wrong, yet
3. Mendelssohn: Proved in last might be one of the best, or was that a bias.
4. Audible: Workouts are not there but winning races
Both Catholic Boy and Solomini need to step up performance wise, and where is Instilled Regard?
