True, but also businesses even more frequently change their MO to try and be more profitable. Maybe it's time for tracks to refuse to be held hostage to run cards that are certain money-losers, filled with off-the-turf races with four or five horse fields that generate shit for handle. Unlike tracks that being floated by casino $$, Santa Anita needs to sell a lot of $12 margaritas to be profitable, and that's not likely in a rainstorm.
