The reasons I would take a shot on the (4) if he were odds qualified, 4-1 at the gate or higher are as follows:
1 - His class drop into a race where no other horse come close to his level.
2 - The short distance.
3 - the horses recent workouts.
4 - If the horse was not worth saving, He would not be in this race after all these years. The trainer may be trying to grab a purse.
