Had it been a $5000 claimer at Waterford Park, they would have scratched the #1 totally out of the race, and he'd find another $5000 claimer at Waterford Park next week.
This modification was surely unique for the Breeders' Cup.
Had #1 fallen to the ground as did the #2, the #1 would have been removed from the race in automatic fashion.
