One thing about Aaron. He had longevity and consistency throughout his MLB career. I remember how easy it was predicting how many HR he would hit in the upcoming season. 44. That was his jersey number his whole career (except for his rookie year, I think he was #5 then). He hit that number of homers and right around that number pretty often.
As a couple of other posters mentioned he was not just a HR hitter. Heck, he batted over .300 most years and hit .355 one year. He had that great wrist action when hitting and made fielding his position look easy. A truly fine athlete and a class act all the way.
