Just from reading the Wikipedia article on Euthanasia in Canada, it seems the Daily Signal got a lot wrong in its article. Surprise Surprise. No assisted suicide can take place except upon written request by the patient. The request has to be witnessed by someone who knows the patient, but would not benefit from the patient’s death. Two independent medical professionals have to certify the patient is seriously and irredeemably ill and that he/she understands the consequences of his decision. Unless the patient’s death is reasonably foreseeable, there must be a 90 day waiting period. The patient can revoke the request at any time for any reason. And they must be continuously informed of this.
