EARL THE PEARL
in 1967 Earl the Pearl Monroe aka Black Magic came to the Baltimore Bullets. it was a very big deal for hoops lovers in our area - DC had no pro hoops team at that time. only about 21 years old - the man was already a legend. a bus was chartered from the DC area and me and my buddies went to see his first home game at the Baltimore Civic Center. he did not disappoint. he whirled, he twirled - he faked opposing players out so bad they sometimes fell down while trying to guard him - I love hoops and this is my all time fave memory as a fan__________ the vids of him really don't do him justice - he was much more exciting than what they show______
