She was doing such a good job that she had to resign because she couldn't take the heat she was getting for the crap she pulled in her term up that point. Obama won because the GOP did not put up a good team to run against him. It is really that simple. The GOP won't win until they field better candidates. As I said before McCain might have won if he had put somebody more acceptable to the electorate. No matter how much you like her or dislike Obama, she is not a candidate with wide appeal.
