I, personally, don't see the similarity here. The smoker is asking for it...because he readily admits that his smoking habit will eventually kill him. He can hardly call himself a "victim" of the disease which will prematurely end his life. In fact...his death could be called a "slow suicide". The same cannot be said about the coronavirus sufferer. One death is a tragedy, while the other is not...IMO.
Who can help the person who doesn't want to help himself?
