Windows Power Shell has
nothing to do with porting Unix commands to DOS (!). Instead it is a complicated and substandard framework to expose DotNet (and the underlined COM technologies) to the command line. A framework that is close to what you are describing here is
https://www.cygwin.com/, but still is far from linux, since by default is loosing a lot of the flexibility of the command line as can be found in bash, ksh, tcsh or zsh.
