Before the Nylander deal we were thinking in the $50 million for 6 year area (Laine)
but that now appears a bit low. Winnipeg is near the top of the league in merchandise sales and there is a 10 year wait just to get on the list for season tickets and the owners have deep pockets so I'm not worried monetarily.
Don't get me wrong here as I'm a big Leaf fan also, they remind me of the Jets. The Leafs structured Nylander's contract in a good way by paying him
$17 mil. up front thus making a trade more viable later on if need be.
Just think is a bit high for a 20 goal scorer. We have to worry more about Kyle Conner who led all rookies last year with 30 goals.
His contract possibilities just shot way up.
