One thing I didn't mention concerning the above method--best to look for a power number. If the horse has one--he's passed fundamental handicapping to earn it. (recency, connections, speed) One single in the 6th FULL OF FIRE didn't have one, so was left out. You will increase your win % if you insist your contenders have one.

"This is the first time I've viewed DD calculator, I've only viewed two races, GPX R6 and GPX race 7, and DD picked both.* In race 6 I bet the #6 horse and won (my own handicapping) but*not paying any attention to DD.* Afterward, I started to view DD and realized it was under 10, the only horse in the race under 10 (if I'm not mistaken).* Then viewed the seventh race, just for fun (I actually worked that race up with my own handicapping) and DD had the 3 horse (under 10 on DD) and this "waterhead" won!!* I'm not going to ignore this DD calculator anymore!!* What a pleasant surprise!!* Thanks much!!"
