Not likely. A competent judge would still decide on the basis of what is right or wrong, not to play to the voters. A partisan judge like Ginsburg would not change her stripes, she would continue to vote on the basis of what she considers to be a "fair" and desired outcome rather than on the basis of the Constitution.
I have little faith in the ability of the electorate to objectively evaluate the decisions of justices, especially given the declining quality of education. That will get even worse as the snowflake students of today become the snowflake "teachers" of tomorrow.
