Most tracks have TWO pan cameras: one high up in the grandstand and one level with the track...BOTH pan each animal in the pre-race warm up....BUT they are stationary and if an animal gets past them, they can only show the angle they have available.
The other cameras (standard at most venues) are the apex (at the high point of the turn going INTO the stretch), the back tower (over near the 3/8hs poll that shows the length of the backstretch head on) and the front tower (right about the 7/8ths poll showing a head on of the complete stretch).
The only ones with MOBILE cameras are in the winners circle and at the gate.
