I think the term mutt is silly. In America, it's not who your family is, it's who you are as a person.
Why do you call it a darkening of the American working class? Maybe it's a lightening of some American working class minorities?
How does your theory explain Jeb Bush marrying an Hispanic woman? Was his plan to produce dark American mutt kids who will earn low wages and tend toward the American working class?
I may be a mutt, but I can still trace all sides of my family back to various parts of Europe. Mutt that I am, I have a great, great, great, great grandfather who was in the American Revolution.
No historic culture? I don't think so. I think it's great to be an American.
