3rd dam produced Dance Parade, who won this very race for Neil Drysdale in 1998. Dance Parade also was a successful broodmare, producing the good stayer Leading Light, who won the St. Leger and the Ascot Gold Cup. 3rd dam also was granddam of a European champion sprinter.
The second dam, Ocean Queen (another Drysdale trainee), beat males in the 1996 Bay Meadows Derby, setting a course record in the process.
But apparently the pedigree wasn't convincing enough to give Beautiful Gift a try on the grass today.
