I've watched 40,000 US horse races across multiple tracks in the last 3 years and early breakers have only ever been either declared non-starters or ignored with result left to stand. I've never seen a single one that has been DQ'd before. This is the first I've seen where the early breaker could have otherwise been DQ'd due to other interference, but then that wouldn't really make logical sense either.
The most recent other examples I have seen were at Saratoga on Aug 27th where the early break was ignored, and Woodbine on Aug 28th where it was declared a non-starter. Thread
