The reason you can't think of a government run program that is more efficient than private is because you don't want to and you will ignore any evidence to the contrary. hcap has provided the fact that 2% of Medicare costs are spent on
administrative costs compared to 17% for private companies.
Let me propose another example. Education. A couple of towns over is a high school run by a Catholic religious order, Fenwick High School. Fenwick is a very good school. It costs $8,000 to $10,000 to go to Fenwick for one year. About a mile from me is Riverside Brookfield High School. A public high school for which there is no tuition. There is no difference between the quality of education at the two schools. In fact, by some metrics RB is the better school
Snow removal. When it snows in my hometown the plows are out soon after it starts and stay out until the snow has ended, even if that means the government employees who drive the plows are out all night. I live in an apartment building with a large parking lot. Our private contractor never comes to plow the lot until the day after the day the snow has ended.
The myth that private businesses are more efficient than government programs is just that. A myth.

Is there a 'no parking' in the large apartment parking lot rule when snow falls?
