Maybe I knew this at one point, but was this part of a backroom deal to get slots into Aqu a few yrs back? I don't like slots subsides, but if you're going to subsidize a gambling entity (beyond NYRA), make it Finger Lakes, not the leaches at OTB.

So....The article states the VLTs will benefit Nassau Downs OTB....But it does not state how or by which process this will occur...
That's leaving the cold cuts out of the sandwich.
This is no way to claim the "gift" is not going to ND OTB...Before I am convinced, I want to see the specifics.
Curious to know where to look for the answers.
If true, teh deal stinks.
The several OTB corps around the state should be self sustaining.
One must assume with the casino nearby to FL, the possible tolling of the bells for the track may be dusted off.
At the end of the day, is the track really worth saving?
Now that Tioga Downs will have a full casino, perhaps Jeff Gural will take some of the profits and expand Tioga to a one mile oval and install turf course. Something FL never had. This way, those horses that are of the FL caliber would simply be moved south and race there.
Just a thought.
