I enjoyed the trip back in time.
Here's his first start. You can't see if from this angle, but he got left badly at the start.
Here's his 2nd start. He got left again and rushed up inside on a day when the inside was very bad. Cruguet eventually got him well off the rail.
It's also worth looking at the start of his Kentucky Derby where he got left again, rushed up, bulled his way through and set a very fast pace.
He did so many freaky things right from the start of his career, but somehow didn't get full credit until he lost in the JCGC in an amazing effort.
