The Parx raid caught Edwin Rivera, a seemingly competent jock, with a battery. Despite the potential of the 10 year ban for being caught with one, might these new rules result in more attempts at battery use going forward by jocks who can no longer use the crop/whip as before to encourage a horse's response?
