Figured same but if that is the case, why did the 2014 law passed allow racetracks and "former racetracks" to offer sports betting? Former racetracks defined as one having held races within the past 15 years. The former racetrack in question is Garden State Park, which last ran in 2001 (< 15 years from the law's passage in 2014). Pennwood (Penn Nat'l/Parx partnership) plans to move ahead with a sports book.
