A kid bringing his shotgun to school on a day he was going hunting later was not out of the ordinary. Brining it out and showing it off was common. Some teachers would come at at recess to look at them.
I think there is a lot to the over-medicating kids to this problem.
You can't outsource parenting to a bottle of pills.
